At the age of two, Jackson suffered a rare cerebellar stroke. We spent the next 11 weeks at Children’s Hospital in London and then moved on to rehab in TO for another five months. Needless to say, we were all emotionally spent and longed to get back home. Upon discharge from Holland-Bloorview Rehab Hospital, we were immediately connected to the JMCC here in our own community. It was such a relief to be able to get Jackson all the services he required right here at home. We enrolled him in the preschool program so that he could get back to doing what all typical 3yr olds do, play! We felt that it was the best choice and safest environment he could be in. All the teachers and therapists are certified and know just what do to in the event of an emergency. This really put our minds at ease so that we were able to return to work without the constant worry of his safety. It is a loving and caring environment, and there is such a strong emphasis on encouraging the children to reach their full potential. We have watched Jackson thrive while at JMCC, developing beyond our expectations! We truly appreciate all the support and access to resources that the centre was able to provide us. Thank you for all you do for us and other families like ours in the community.
