YMCA of Western Ontario chosen as the new operator of the John McGivney Children’s Centre Child Care program
WINDSOR ON -
The John McGivney Children’s Centre (JMCC) has selected the YMCA of Western Ontario (YMCAWO) as the operator of its valued child care program following an extensive ‘Request for Proposals’ (RFP) process. The YMCAWO is a not-for-profit organization with experience providing inclusive child care for children with special needs. In addition to providing high quality child care, they have a focus on building healthy communities with core values that align with those of JMCC, “Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility.”
The YMCA of Windsor and Essex County will assume responsibility for the child care program at JMCC on August 1st, 2017 and will be offering spaces to all children currently enrolled in JMCC’s child care program as well as children on the existing waiting list, as spaces become available.
JMCC and the YMCA of Windsor and Essex County are committed to working together to ensure a smooth transition for all children and their families. Children with complex special needs attending child care will continue to access on-site therapies.
The YMCA of Windsor and Essex County has been providing child care and programs for school-aged children in the region for the past 30 years, with programs currently offered in Amherstburg, Belle River, South Woodslee, Harrow and Leamington.
Through this new partnership between the YMCA of Windsor and Essex, an established child care operator and JMCC, a children’s treatment centre dedicated to enriching the lives of children and youth with special needs, children of all abilities will continue to flourish in our community.
