John McGivney Children’s Centre to Explore Partnership with Community Child Care ProviderDate Posted: Wednesday, March 22, 2017
Since the restructuring of the John McGivney Children’s Centre’s (JMCC) child care program a year-and-a-half ago, the Centre has been closely monitoring the program’s growth and evolution. In addition, JMCC has been working closely with community partners to build the level of supports and services offered to children with special needs that require child care. In an effort to meet the evolving needs of families in Windsor-Essex, JMCC will explore a partnership with a community child care centre to operate its child care program. An ‘Expression of Interest’ will be issued on with a timeline for response of March 31. During this process, the services, therapy and level of care for the children currently in the program will not change.
Should there be a positive response to the ‘Expression of Interest’, JMCC would then issue a ‘Request for Proposals’ and engage in a formal process to select an operator. The Centre’s goal is to have a licensed operator in place by July 1, 2017.
JMCC’s desire is to continue to support an inclusive child care model. Children with complex special needs will continue to access on-site therapies and benefit from the Centre’s comprehensive therapy team.
Pairing an established operator with our expertise will ensure that children of all abilities will continue to flourish in our community.
