If you are waiting for, or currently receiving speech and language services, occupational therapy or physiotherapy for your child, you need to know that:
Planning for the Inter-Ministry Special Needs Strategy has started and a local community planning table is meeting to develop proposals for Co-ordinated Service Planning and Integrated Rehabilitation Services which includes services provided by the John McGivney Children’s Centre.
Special Needs Strategy Vision:
“An Ontario where children and youth with special needs get the timely and effective services they need to participate fully at home, at school, in the community, and as they prepare to achieve their goals for adulthood.”

- Identifying children’s needs earlier and getting them the right help sooner;
- Coordinating service planning for children with multiple or complex special needs; and,
- Making rehabilitation services including speech services more seamless from birth through the school years.
