Ford Test Drive Cheque Presentation to the John McGivney Children's CentreTuesday, May 15, 2012
The John McGivney Children’s Centre is appreciative of the fundraising efforts of the University of Windsor Odette School of Business students who organized the Fort Test Drive initiative this past fall and helped to raise $3,700 for the Centre. We also thank Rose City staff and Ford Canada for supporting the John McGivney Children’s Centre in this fundraising project. Without support from organizations within our community, we could not offer the highest quality of services to children with disabilities.
Moramos Shrine Club of Windsor Donation to the CentreThursday, April 12, 2012
Don Warner, President of the Moramos Shrine Club of Windsor, along with several members of the club, presented a cheque for $10,000 to the Centre on April 10, 2012.
The money will help pay for swipe card access and automatic door openers for the splinting clinic, the Snoezelen room and the activities of daily living, an area designed for the testing and training of equipment used every day by the children. The areas were selected by the Shriners club based on the importance to the children, families and staff of the Centre.
This is the second partnership between JMCC and the Shriners. In 2010, the Centre was selected to participate in the Mocha Shriners Pediatric Telemedicine Service project.
The Centre sincerely appreciates the ongoing support and generosity of the Moramos Shrine Club of Windsor.
University of Windsor's Behaviour, Cognition, and Neuroscience Students’ Association Raise funds for JMCCMonday, February 13, 2012
The John McGivney Children's Centre sincerely appreciates the efforts of the Behaviour Cognition and Neuroscience Students' Association for their recent fundraising event for the Centre!
In what organizers touted as a great night for a great cause, the Behaviour, Cognition, and Neuroscience Students’ Association raised about $3500 for the John McGivney Children’s Centre on January 27.
“A Night on the Nile” at Windsor’s Fogolar Furlan Club boasted a formal dinner, dance and silent auction. The John McGivney Children’s Centre provides rehabilitative services to the Windsor-Essex community, enriching the lives of children and youth with disabilities and special needs.
The student association’s president, Julia Mockler, said she was pleased to be able to help.
“The John McGivney Children’s Centre does a lot of good for the community of Windsor-Essex County and the BCNSA is hoping to help their cause,” she said. “We are such a small group of students that it’s incredible we were able to accomplish all of this in our first year of trying.”
Organizer Karlaina Osmon extended thanks to the event’s sponsors: the University of Windsor Alumni Association, the Social Science Society and Stantec Consulting.
JMCC Preschool Thanks Windsor Police 911 Services for Generous DonationThursday, January 12, 2012
Preschool would like to thank our very generous Windsor Police 911 Services Staff for their kind donations again this year. This is an annual event right before Christmas where they bring Elmer and bags and bags of supplies for our program. They have brought us everything from playdough to puzzles to play food to wash cloths to music and movies. This year they joined us for our Christmas sing-a-long with the school children and absolutely loved seeing the children sing and enjoy themselves. They have said that this visit truly makes their Christmas for them and enjoy it tremendously. While visiting they offered many kind words of gratitude for everything the preschool and school staff does for our children and for our community. They were able to see the children enjoying themselves and visibly see the children that their donations assist. I felt for a brief moment that we were able to give back to them as a result of their generosity because it provided them with such a warm feeling too.
Merry Christmas from all of preschool.

The Windsor Quilters' Guild has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the John McGivney Children's Centre and the work we all do. For this, we are most appreciative.
