Message from the Executive Director
Date Edited: April 29, 2013
We are pleased to announce that the John McGivney Children’s Centre has begun our journey to accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) Canada. We are delighted to join our partner CTCs: Five Counties Children's Centre, Niagara Children's Centre and Thames Valley Children's Centre, in choosing accreditation through CARF.
Seeking accreditation will:
-
show our ongoing commitment to providing the highest levels of quality care for our children and families
-
demonstrate a high level of conduct in our business practices
-
challenge our employees, volunteers, students and members of our Board of Directors to find better ways to serve our clients
-
be a constant reminder of our responsibility to the community of Windsor and Essex County, to our donors and to our funders
Achieving accreditation by CARF will signify:
-
that JMCC has met the rigorous standards of an internationally recognized third party
-
that we have undergone an extensive self-assessment and on-site survey by expert surveyors including therapists, health care workers and administrators who are actively involved in pediatric rehabilitative care
Our goal is a CARF three-year term of accreditation for the following programs:
-
Interdisciplinary Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation Program (Pediatric Specialty Program)
-
Home and Community Services Program (Pediatric Specialty Program)
